January 20th 1999: a group of friends decide to found Leather Club Rome (LCR), with a mission to make it the primary point of reference for the small gay leather scene in Rome.
Of course it wasn’t so easy: there is no real big leather scene in Rome, and leather men are often required to travel to Milan, England, France and Germany, not only to have sex ,but also to meet with others sharing the same interest, and find a place with a different way to be gay.

Starting with a small group of founding members (our first president was Alfred, a German who moved to Rome ten years ago, that still participates in the club’s activities), the Club began to grow slowly but surely, and organized the first leather and fetish parties.

2000 - LCR became affiliated with ECMC (the association that unites all the Leather Clubs in Europe) and began an affiliation with the SPHINX CLUB which became the primary meeting point of leather men in Rome, and where LCR a number of events and parties are held.

2002 - LCR organized the first CATACOMBS which has become our official annual event and is now publicized in the ECMC calendar, to welcome more participants outside of Italy.

2003 – The first Mr. Rubber Italy is elected

2005 – LCR approves its official charter and created a directive to organize all activities for 2006.

2007 – Stockholm, during the annual meeting of ECMC, LCR adjudicates the organization of AGM 2009 that will take place in Rome, October 2009.

2009 - Rome: during the first weekend of October, ECMC AGM took place in Rome, with great success.
