During the inauguration of the 2025-2026 season of Leather Club Roma and the Multiverse Fetish project, we interviewed Antonio, known in the community as Robin Hero, a key figure in the development of the European Superhero Fetish scene. Robin Hero lives in France and is president of SHF – Superhero Fetish, an association that works to connect people, create communities, and promote events dedicated to superhero kink.

During the interview, he explained how this interest often arises very early, linked to the nerd world—comics, cinema, TV series, and cartoons—and how for years many people experienced it in isolation. From this experience, the idea of creating something that didn’t exist before was born: a structured network to give space and visibility to the community. In the early 2000s, the internet played a fundamental role in allowing many people to discover they weren’t alone and to begin building international connections.

A key step was entering the circuit of major European fetish events, particularly Darklands in Belgium. From an initial, almost experimental, participation, the International Superhero Fetish contest was born, now a regular event of the festival and a showcase for this segment of the kink community internationally.

The Multiverse Fetish project, developed by Leather Club Roma, was born with a very similar vision: to create a space dedicated to Superhero Fetish, lycra, and fetish cosplay, also fostering dialogue with nerd communities and other kink communities. Multiverse is now one of the first structured projects in Europe dedicated to this field and over the years has helped give visibility to fetishes historically considered niche.

Leather Club Roma and Multiverse are now official sponsors of the International Superhero Fetish, strengthening a concrete European collaboration. Initiatives include inviting the contest winner to participate in Multiverse events and providing support to facilitate the presence of international winners, with the aim of building an increasingly strong network.

One of the strongest messages to emerge is the cultural shift of recent years: what was once perceived as marginal is now increasingly a recognized part of European fetish culture, thanks to the work of communities and individuals who have created spaces, events, and connections over the years.

The International Superhero Fetish will return to the Darklands main stage on March 6-7. Leather Club Roma will continue to develop the Multiverse project and invites the international community to major events in Rome, starting with Fetish Pride Italy on December 5-7.
