The first Italian Dyke March: a march that concerns all of us

On 26 April 2025 Rome will host the first Italian Dyke March, on the occasion of the International Lesbian Visibility Day. A historic, courageous event, awaited for years: at last in Italy too lesbian voices will take the space of a march conceived and built by and for them, with a broad, inclusive and intersectional outlook.
Leather Club Roma enthusiastically supports this initiative, first of all for the deep friendship that has always bound us to the Kinky Girls – a group that shares with us a free, self-ironic and irreverent attitude in living desire – but also and above all for the resonance of values that unites us with those who chose to bring this march to the streets.
Values such as the visibility of non-conforming identities, the freedom to self-determine, the search for authentic spaces, where one can be, love and desire without fear, without masks, without mediation. Values such as mutual support between marginalised subjectivities, pride in showing who we are, even when our expressions challenge dominant norms and canons.
This march is also an invitation to look beyond the boundaries of our individual experiences: to intertwine struggles, to recognise that there are many ways of existing and loving, all equally worthy. As a fetish and queer community, we know what it means to be misunderstood, judged or reduced to caricatures. We know how important it is to keep alive our languages, our bodies, our stories.
The Dyke March celebrates exactly this: the power of what stands at the margins and refuses to be normalised. And it does so with pride, creativity, desire and determination. After all, it is also what we do every time we choose to be there in a radically authentic way.
For all this, Leather Club Roma supports those who organised this march and those who will take part in it, with respect, listening and sharing. Because even if the paths are different, the desire to be free together is the same.
