Solidarity with the victims of the New Year’s Eve homophobic attack. We will join the demonstration on 4 January

Leather Club Roma (LCR), a non-profit gay association committed to promoting leather and fetish culture within the Italian and European gay community, expresses deep solidarity with Stephano and Matteo, victims of a brutal homophobic attack on New Year’s Eve in the Malatesta district of Rome.

We firmly condemn every form of discrimination based on sexual orientation and reaffirm our commitment to the fight against homophobia.

As a sign of closeness to the victims and to reaffirm the importance of the rights and safety of the LGBTQIA+ community, LCR joins and will take part in the sit-in organised for Saturday 4 January at 5:00 pm in the Malatesta area by the Circolo di cultura omosessuale Mario Mieli.

As an association of kinksters and fetishmen, we are particularly sensitive to the dynamics of discrimination. Even if we do not always suffer physical violence, we face prejudice and stereotypes every day that limit individual freedom and personal expression. These forms of discrimination, although less visible, are just as unbearable and harmful to human dignity.

We invite all our members, supporters and the whole city to join this peaceful demonstration, to bear witness together that love and respect must prevail over hatred and violence.
