Identity · Connection · Visibility

One community, many forms of expression.

Rubber is a language of materials, aesthetics and belonging. The sash gives the community a face and creates opportunities to meet.

Mr Rubber Italia is the national representative chosen through the contest. The role takes shape through relationships with clubs, participation in events and personal projects. The interviews in this archive reveal different perspectives, united by a desire to make the rubber scene more visible, welcoming and connected.

History, including its gaps

Milestones in a shared memory.

2003

The first chapter

Leather Club Roma’s official history places the first Mister Rubber Italia edition in 2003 and names Andrea P. as the winner. This is the contest’s documented starting point. The sources found for 2004 and 2005 do not yet allow a reliable roll of honour to be reconstructed.

2006–2013

Italian sashes and international horizons

LFI’s roll of honour preserves the names and several handovers from this period. Maurizio won the international title; Giovanni won the European title. According to LCR’s history, the contest has been organised with Leather Friends Italia since 2012. Rome and northern cities became meeting places for the national scene.

2014–2017

Voices of the titleholders

Interviews with Massimo, Filippo, Chris and Joy preserve a legacy beyond the roll of honour: experiences, ideas and reflections on the titleholder’s role. The 2017 election was held at Fabrik in Florence, with LCR and LFI and support from Leather & Fetish Milano.

2018

From interruption to #StrongerTogether

On 3 February, inspections at Bunker in Rome prevented the contest from taking place. LCR and LFI announced a rescheduled election for 27 April at Coming Out during the #StrongerTogether weekend. The announcement for the next edition documents Nick as Mr Rubber Italia 2018: the February interruption does not mean the title was unawarded.

2019–2021

John and the pandemic pause

John was elected on 6 April 2019. The contest scheduled in Milan for March 2020 was cancelled because of COVID. In his 2020 LCR interview, his term was confirmed with 2021 as its stated end. The contest resumed in Milan in October 2021 with Pan’s election to the 2022 title.

2022–2026

A new season

The succession continued with Pan, Mirco, Edoardo, Effe and Leonardo. Padua hosted both elections in December 2025: Leonardo won the Italian 2026 sash on 12 December; the following day, Effe won the European 2026 sash. The two titles remain distinct.

Italian title ≠ European title

Italy in Europe.

Two intersecting stories, with separate contests and rolls of honour.

Giovanni, Mr Euro Rubber 2007MR EURO RUBBER I · 2007

Giovanni

The official European website documents him as the first titleholder, elected in Karlsruhe in 2007. LFI’s roll of honour also records his Italian 2007 term, which began through succession. In December 2025, he returned to Padua as a judge at the European election.

The official European roll of honour ↗
Effe, Mr Rubber Italia 2025 e Mr Rubber Europe 2026MR RUBBER EUROPE · 2026

Effe

He became Mr Rubber Europe 2026 at Flexo Club in Padua on 13 December 2025, after completing his Italian term. His European project centres on authentic expression and dialogue between communities.

The official European profile ↗

The European story began with Mr Euro Rubber in Karlsruhe in 2007. The title was relaunched as Mr Rubber Europe in Antwerp in 2018 and 2019; the pandemic interrupted the 2020 programme. It restarted in Barcelona in 2024 under the Confederation of European Rubber Clubs (CERC).

European candidacies and results are reported only where documented. Plans to participate expressed in interviews are not presented as confirmed appearances. International Mr Rubber is another title, distinct from Mr Rubber Europe.

Leather Club Roma

A home for rubber, too.

The connection with LCR is documented from the first edition in 2003 and continues through cooperation with Leather Friends Italia. The club preserves interviews, photographs and programmes tracing the title’s history, including the 2017 edition, the rescheduled 2018 election and Fetish Pride Italy 2024.

Chris, Mr Rubber Italia 2016, serving on the historical board is another link between national representation and club life. In 2025, LCR announced that it was joining the European confederation of rubber clubs.
